Pie for september, and pie 17 of 2011: fresh pluot pie!
I’d never heard of a pluot before, but apparently its a hybrid between a plum and an apricot. It was quite tasty. A simple, sweet and tangy pie. The only ingredients (other than the crust) were fruit, sugar, nutmeg and a touch of peach schnapps.
(This picture was taken after it was ravaged by co-workers, I’m lucky I managed to get a picture at all :-D)
Pie 16, and August’s pie remains unphotographed. It was a variation on the pear-apple pie with a cheddar cheese crust. I can never quite get the cheese crust right. However, we did cut a dinosaur shape in the top crust with a cookie cutter, hehehe.
